Office 2010 offers user interface enhancements, including a Backstage view that combines document management tasks into a single section. It debuted Office Online, free Web-based versions of Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, and Word. In addition, a new Office Starter 2010 edition replaces Microsoft Works.

Users can create their own Quick Steps and optionally assign keyboard shortcuts or customize tooltips for each of them.
